The first part of the 29th Congress of LO was conducted digitally on June 15, 2020, due to the corona pandemic. At the Congress, a new LO leadership was elected and a limited number of issues were dealt with. Thereafter, the Congress was adjourned to be resumed on November 29.
The resumed Congress was held from 29 November to 1 December and dealt with international issues, trade union political cooperation and welfare issues.
International issues were discussed on the first day of the Congress. In her introductory speech to the international section, LO President Susanna Gideonsson highlighted different aspects of international solidarity:
